Current projects include upgrade and modification programmes and components/subsystems work for the MOD, RAF, US DOD, commercial airlines and several major aircraft manufacturers.

Following a reorganisation of the business, into four business units (BUs), the largest of these (T/O £180M) now wishes to appoint an outstanding individual who is able to lead the BU business development function globally, identifying, bidding and winning new contracts, ultimately delivering profitable growth for the BU moving forward.

The Opportunity

*Reporting to the BU Managing Director, you will be responsible for creating and delivering a business development strategy which will maximise company revenues with both existing and new customers within the aerospace and defence sectors globally

*You will lead and develop a team of business development professionals, both in the UK and overseas, and be responsible for the bidding and winning process of new contracts, working closely with operations to secure profitable new programmes for the BU and ensure maximum customer satisfaction at all times

*You will establish and develop a network of key relationships throughout the aerospace industry and play a vital role in the overall strategic development of this autonomous BU.

Your Credentials

*You will be a highly talented individual with strong business development and sales experience within the aerospace or defence sectors with a track record of bidding for and winning large programmes with UK and international defence departments, airlines and OEMs

*A strategic business leader and relationship builder, you must identify and exploit potential market opportunities, have a track record of sales, marketing and business capture and an excellent appreciation of large, complex and high value multinational programmes

*You must have a track record of managing and developing an international business development team, exceptional stakeholder management skills and a strategic approach which allows the organisation to maximise it business opportunities
