The Ofgem (Office of Gas and Electricity Markets) Group regulates the gas and electricity industries in Britain. Ofgem is now re-structuring to meet its duties and obligations for both today’s and also tomorrow’s consumer. E-Serve, a newly created Ofgem business, will be responsible for Ofgem’s delivery functions, while Ofgem maintains it’s regulatory and policy roles. Senior Partner, Transmission & Governance, is a key post in the new Ofgem structure, reporting directly to Alistair Buchanan, CEO, and is a member of Ofgem’s Senior Management Team.

The Role

• With a budget of c. £4m and 40 staff, you will provide leadership and effective management to develop, implement and govern the regulatory framework for transmission.

• Sets the direction and priorities for networks in the low carbon agenda through expert policy analysis, applied sector knowledge, the use of market intelligence and strategic thinking skills.

• Leads the assessments and administration of industry code and license changes and license application, including proposals for, and implementation of, the Industry Codes Governance Review.

The Candidate

• Experience of working in a complex organisation and in an open and demanding culture with strong values and a focus on policy delivery.

• Technically strong and well versed in network regulation, pricing policy and managing complex projects against demanding deadlines.

• Highly developed leadership and influencing skills to deliver innovative policy solutions across numerous stakeholders.
