A profitable and expanding global business, our client now wishes to appoint a Senior Engineer to drive the design of turbine component seals, with special regard to ‘Design for Manufacture’ within their Sealing and Microleakage Critical Technology team.

The Role

You will be responsible for leading projects which are focussed on developing 'world-wide' expertise in design with respect to the manufacture, assembly, and integration of seals on turbine components, overseeing and executing design and development programmes from initial investigation stage, through to prototype manufacture on a range of gas and steam turbine projects.

The role will involve the:

• Development of design (and manufacturing processes) for new sealing technologies for integration on gas and steam turbine components

• Development of design guidelines and engineering tools for the production of cost-effective, highly efficient and reliable new seal products

• Technical support and execution of R&D design projects

• Interface with turbine integration and manufacturing business units, and external suppliers to support product development

The Person

Successful candidates are likely to possess:

• Knowledge of turbomachinery, and ideally sealing technology

• A good engineering degree

• Design for manufacture background

• Expertise in CAD design, preferably, but not essentially including CATIA v5
