Information Technology is a global organisation which implements and supports a complete range of IT systems to all ExxonMobil businesses worldwide. We work closely with our business partners to provide systems ranging from those used to explore for oil and gas through to those used to process sales at our 35,000 service stations worldwide. • Service Delivery: Being part of a group responsible for providing IT services to business users at a site or country level.
• Application Development and Support: Being part of a team that develops and supports applications used by global ExxonMobil business functions.
• Infrastructure Development and Support: Developing and supporting the infrastructure used throughout the organisation.
• Project Management: Being involved in the projects that deliver new applications and technologies to the business using world-class practices and processes.

In order to build your technical, project management and leadership skills, you will move through a variety of jobs during your first few years. This is aimed at assisting your development and provides new challenges and experiences. Each individual will follow a unique career path and the majority of IT professionals will experience supervisory responsibilities or involvement in a project team within their first five years. You don't need to be a technical expert as we will provide all the necessary training, but an appreciation of how to balance business needs with appropriate and cost effective IT solutions is critical. After a few years, both you and we will make a judgement as to whether your long-term career should follow a technical or managerial path, and whether it should include assignments in other locations or business functions.
