What we offer
12 excellent opportunities to train as Accounting Technicians.

Our graduates train as general practitioners and not specialists and therefore receive a wider range of experience across audit, accountancy and taxation. Kingston Smith’s wide range of clients means that our trainees benefit from working with an interesting mix of industries, types of business and size. We encourage early responsibility and ensure that as they progress, trainees are given the opportunity to work on all aspects of an assignment (not just one small area).

The first class training and a supportive environment we offer helps our trainees to succeed in both their work experience and the AAT exams. Our AAT pass rates are exceptional and highlight our success at training and supporting our trainees through the AAT qualification. Our trainees all study together in the same class at college (regardless of their base office) so they build up strong relationships with their peers and can help support each other through studying and exams.

As you can see we are comfortably big enough to offer a wide variety of experience but we’re still the kind of place where personality is valued and individual achievement gets recognised. Our personal approach means you will get to know all of our Partners, who will be accessible to you and will be genuinely committed to your training and development.

There is always plenty going on in our friendly offices, with a wide variety of social activities. We have a firm wide social committee with representatives from every level within the firm, who are always looking for suggestions and volunteers to help organise events.

The Future
There are plenty of options available to you after completing the AAT. We monitor your progress throughout the AAT and for those that show the potential we offer full support for further qualifications such as the ACA. There is also the possibility of moving into other areas such as corporate recovery, bookkeeping or taxation to name a few.

Once you have qualified we recognise the need for you to continue your training and will keep you updated on technical changes within the profession; this is provided through our in-house training programme.
