Choosing the best programme for you

Here at Wates, we have 2 comprehensive training programmes on offer. The Commercial Training programme is designed for potential Quantity Surveyors and the Production Training programme for the Site/Project Managers of the future.

Commercial

This programme is designed for potential Quantity Surveyors, a vital part of any construction project. As well as ensuring that a project is financially viable, they build dynamic relationships with trade contractors and suppliers and safeguard Wates’ contractual position.

The Commercial Training programme, accreted by the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors, is a key step to becoming a chartered Quantity Surveyor.

The programme combines in house technical training with responsibility on one of our many jobs from day one. This gives you the opportunity to put theory into practise every day. You will receive on the job training in all elements of the construction process and be supported in your pursuit of professional qualifications or further education.

Production

Construction is a very dynamic industry- no two days on site are the same. Project and site managers need the skills to drive a project forward, even when unforeseen events occur. By managing key relationships on the project they ensure that the customer receives a first class service, delivering the project on time, within budget and to a very high standard.

The Production Training Programme, accredited by the Chartered Institute of Building, is a key step towards becoming a site or project manager.

The programme combines in house technical training with responsibility on one of our many jobs from day one. This ensures that you have the opportunity to continuously put theory into practise. You will receive on the job training in all elements of construction and support in pursing professional qualifications or further education.
