At MBDA we offer you fantastic opportunities to build a rewarding career, working with 11,000 of the brightest people in the industry at two of our sites in the UK – Stevenage and Bristol. The analytical skills you developed at university will be put to good use as you learn new techniques to solve problems.

If you’re hungry to succeed, you’ll find at MBDA there are no limits to how far you can go in developing your skills within your specialist area. Our world class technical experts and managers provide the leadership for our business that has resulted in our continued growth and reputation for pioneering technologies.

We are committed to providing continuing professional development through accredited training, set out by professional institutes, such as IMechE, IET, Institute of Physics, and the Royal Aeronautical Society, as well as a series of development events for all new graduates who join us.

ON TARGET TO SUCCEED FROM DAY ONE – INDUCTION
When you join MBDA, our four-day induction programme will help give you a truly big picture perspective of the business, as well as the detail regarding our day-to-day working practices. You’ll also be allocated your own ‘buddy’ before you start – someone who has recently participated in a scheme similar to your own who knows the ropes and can give you practical guidance about what you can expect (and what will be expected of you!).

ON TARGET TO ADVANCE - PLACEMENTS
As well as spending three to nine months in different business areas throughout your two-year development programme – and attending professional development workshops covering everything from influencing and presentation skills to project management and technical training – we also offer some engineering training opportunities unique to MBDA. Our Missiles System University offers additional specialist training, and our Technical Foundation Course (usually held abroad) is a hugely popular course that gives graduates a chance to see how a complete missile is constructed and operated – giving you a further insight into how the work you do within your specialism applies to the whole.

ON TARGET SUPPORT
As well as your Buddy, you’ll also have an assigned trained Mentor to support you throughout your development. Focused on providing career development support and helping you identify where your skills are best placed (and where they need to be developed), your Mentor will be key in helping you plan your options for the future.

ON TARGET TO KEEP DEVELOPING
At MBDA, your development doesn’t stop the minute you complete the graduate programme. As well as our supported professional accreditation and professional and personal development activities, we also offer ‘Knowledge Point Centres’ at each of our locations. Designed to provide in-house, business-focused learning opportunities, the centres allow you to access myriad interactive training courses that you can fit in around your work schedule, as well as providing learning books, videos and CD-ROMs.
We also offer a Programme of Assisted Self Study (PASS) Scheme, which will help you to develop a skill in a subject that isn't necessarily directly work-related. MBDA is happy to provide up to £100 of financial support each year, which you can put towards training course fees, exam fees or recommended study materials.

ON TARGET REWARDS
Primarily located in our state-of-the-art facilities in Stevenage and Bristol, if it’s a high tech, high visibility working environment you’re after, this is the place for you. And, as well as offering an inspiring physical environment, we also offer a culture that promotes flexible working – meaning here you’ll have the freedom to define your own work pattern within set time limits.
But it’s not just the environment and culture here that are highly rewarding – we also offer more tangible rewards in the form of very competitive salaries, pension schemes and an option of private healthcare. All our graduates receive a joining bonus when they start with us, and salaries are reviewed every six months in order to ensure they match your performance.

ARE YOU ON TARGET? - ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
If you’ve ever fancied yourself as a rocket scientist, to join our engineering programme and fulfil your ambitions you’ll need a minimum 2:2 degree in one of the following disciplines – Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, Software or Aeronautical Engineering, Maths, Physics or Computer Science.
