Now’s the time to take your Gap Year…Go and experience the world whilst contributing to the places and people you meet.
We can sort it; with the benefit of our connections and knowledge you can safely enjoy a gap year or career break that might otherwise elude you…
Your Impact in Sustainable Development
The Leap is one of the original and leading UK Gap Year companies who maintains a culture of providing a thorough and responsible service to both our volunteers and projects overseas.
We have volunteering placements throughout Africa, Asia and South America which rely on the help of volunteers like yourselves. Approximately 60 % of the cost of each scheme is spent directly on the projects and local people who facilitate our in-country development.
How OUR PLACEMENTS stand out from the crowd...
Our placements offer a unique and fascinating mix of conservation, eco-tourism and community projects often located all over the country you're heading to, giving you a varied and exciting placement.
Eco-tourism opportunities involve working in exclusive safari camps and jungle eco-lodges: escort guests on safari, help rangers track wildlife and ride horses amongst Africa’s extraordinary wildlife.
Community projects involve teaching English and sport to local kids, refurbishing classrooms and building fresh water systems in remote villages.
Conservation projects involve rehabilitating injured game and endangered species, assisting on anti-poaching programmes and helping to protect the rainforests.
For example: In Kenya you can study a pod of dolphins in the morning, teach classrooms of African toddlers in the afternoon, before kite surfing in the evening.
In Tanzania your time is split between the beach and the bush, whilst in Ecuador you’ll travel from the coast to the Andes and onto the Amazon.
Life Changing
You will make a real difference to the lives of others. But it is a two way process – much of the change will be in you. You’ll find yourselves in situations that will challenge your pre-conceptions, face experiences that will stretch your abilities whilst making great friendships and creating memories to last a lifetime.
Future employers and/or universities value and respect our placements as a fantastic medium for students to not only make a huge contribution to the lives of others but to also polish up their soft skills, such as leadership, teamwork and communication giving them a competitive edge in this tough job market.
So if you are thinking of traveling, do it, but make this time count…
