Want to join the number 1 “Great Place to Work” in the UK 2009 where people and career development are considered top of the agenda?  Want to join a company who has promoted over 65% of their graduates within 18 months? If the answer is yes, then we have an opportunity for you to join our graduate sales team.

We’re looking for graduates with a passion for FMCG sales, great interpersonal skills, excellent organisation and planning, creativity and pro-activity to help build relationships with our key retailers and build our business accordingly.

Your mission

As a Danone graduate, you’ll start as a Territory Manager in our field sales team. This will give you an excellent introduction to our business and will help build your commercial acumen and other key competencies within this double digit growth business, whilst ensuring real accountability and responsibility in your role.

Through our recruitment process, we are not just recruiting for territory managers but for people who can become our future National Account Executives/Managers, Category Managers and beyond.

We are recruiting throughout the year for those that are still completing their final year (to finish summer 09) and those that have already graduated.

Graduate Territory Manager role overview

  • Grocery store visits with set objectives and targets; monitoring and improving Danone product displays and building effective relationships within each outlet, with contacts at all levels.
  • Negotiation and maintenance of additional distribution, increased space and dual sites, wherever possible.
  • Management of all stock levels, by accessing store databases and recommending base sales increases (where possible).
  • Identifying and agreeing display opportunities within outlets, using point of sale (POS) material wherever possible
  • Negotiating sampling / tasting sessions and promotion implementation at local store level.

Ideally, you will have or be expecting a minimum 2i degree and we will look at graduates from any discipline and especially candidates with work experience in sales and/or customer service (though not essential).

A full UK driving licence is also required.

What do you get in return?

Danone comes into its own, in terms of what we give back to our employees, and this has been recognised in our 2009 best workplace award.  As well as a competitive salary, bonus, car, laptop and mobile we offer our employees a whole host of opportunities including massages at the office, fresh fruit every morning, reward trips away (the last one was to Marrakesh!), funding for non work related courses and plenty more. Learning and development is also a key focus for Danone and the whole company is going through a ‘Leadership for All’ programme this year to help build authentic leadership based on individual’s key strengths.
