Founded in 1898, the Heron & Brearley Group is proud of its heritage as the largest and oldest licensed retail business in the Isle of Man, employing approximately 1000 people, across forty public houses in the managed estate. In addition, we have five public houses under tenancy in the Isle of Man and five managed outlets in England and Wales.

With a commitment to continuous improvement and ongoing investment in our operations, we now seek a Retail Director Designate for a truly unique opportunity to really make an impact and influence the shape of our business going forward.

A professionally qualified graduate with at least 10 years’ demonstrable experience of achieving significant business performance across multi-site operations at a strategic P&L level possibly gained within the licensed trade. You will have overall responsibility and accountability for the strategic planning, effective management, development and growth of the Group’s managed public house division across the Isle of Man and United Kingdom.

Your leadership and direction will co-ordinate all retail activities to achieve the strategic goals and objectives of the business within the highest standards of corporate governance. You will produce effective business plans for Board approval and be responsible for Strategic, Regulatory and Compliance, Financial and Operational risk within the retail division whilst ensuring strong strategic planning processes are in place
