£130,000 per annum + bonus + pension
Based in London SW1
The Ofgem (Office of Gas and Electricity Markets) Group regulates the gas and electricity industries in Britain. Ofgem is now re-structuring to meet its duties and obligations for both today’s and also tomorrow’s consumer. Ofgem E-Serve is a newly created Ofgem business.
The ‘E’ stands for environment, energy and efficiency. Ofgem E-Serve will be responsible for Ofgem’s delivery functions while Ofgem maintains it’s regulatory and policy roles. The Managing Director (Commercial) is a key post in the new structure, reporting directly to Alistair Buchanan, CEO, and is a member of Ofgem’s E-Serve Management Committee.
The Role
• A highly commercial role which combines the identification and development of major new business areas with operational implementation of key elements of Ofgem E-Serve business.
• A key leadership role in the design and delivery of regulatory regimes for a portfolio of multi-billion industry investments, including Offshore Transmission, Smart Metering and other Low Carbon initiatives.
• Managing and motivating strong multi-functional teams to ensure Ofgem E-Serve achieves its operational objectives.
The Candidate
• Experience of working at Board level, crafting business development and large scale commercial transactions involving regulatory frameworks and multi-faceted project streams.
• Entrepreneurial and pragmatic, you can make tough decisions, ensuring success in shaping and delivering large scale strategic programmes within a quality-focused environment.
• You will possess the necessary attributes to bring about change up to Board and down to operational level, both internally and externally across international boundaries.
