High on performance and strong on sustainable delivery
Can you meet the challenge in Norfolk
(and beyond)?
Chief Constable
£132,708 plus a significant benefits/relocation package
Under the dynamic leadership of Ian McPherson, Norfolk Constabulary has significantly enhanced its performance and improved its delivery over successive years. Following his appointment as Assistant Commissioner (Territorial Policing) in the MPS, the Norfolk Police Authority (NPA) is looking for a high calibre individual to lead the Chief Officer Team and to continue this momentum. His successor will join the existing highly effective ACPO Team ensuring that the Force remains high achieving, embeds long-term cultural change, and delivers further quality of life improvements for the public we serve. A key challenge will be to improve further community confidence within a challenging financial climate.
The Constabulary, alongside the NPA, have embarked upon a significant programme of development and are looking for a strategic and forward-thinking, energetic and ambitious individual, who is driven by challenge, with a view to consolidating the changes made and taking the Force forward in a climate of tight fiscal restraint.
Partnership working, alongside the NPA, particularly with Local Authorities, local communities and other partners, and in collaboration with other Forces (especially our Preferred Partnership with Suffolk), will be key to ensuring that the highest standards of service are provided to those that live in, work in, and visit Norfolk.
The current annual salary is £132,708 together with a significant benefits and relocation package linked to performance outputs and to market conditions. In addition, you have the opportunity to work alongside a constructively challenging and supportive Police Authority.
Seize this unique opportunity to discover what Norfolk holds and to build realistically on the vision of “Making People our Priority”, and keeping the community safe.
Please feel free to call and discuss this with the Chief Executive. Application packs can be obtained from Chris Harding MBE LL.B Solicitor,
Chief Executive, Norfolk Police Authority, Jubilee House, Falconers Chase,
Wymondham, Norfolk. NR18 0WW. Telephone 01953 424455. Email policeauthority@norfolk.pnn.police.uk
Closing date for applications: Tuesday 24th November 2009. Interviews will take place in the week commencing 18th January 2010.
