PricewaterhouseCoopers' (PwC)Risk Assurance Technology and Project Assurance Team is expanding and has plans for significant growth. We are looking to add four Senior Associates/Managers to our team with a range of skills and an appreciation of how IT supports the business. Consulting skills are a requirement for the role, as is a combination of skills from at least one of the following disciplines : IT governance, processes and controls; projects; IT – Technical and business data.

The ideal candidate willhave adegree in a numeric or IT related subject and be able to demonstrate:
  • A high level of commitment to self development.
  • A desire to develop technical expertise and experience further, with a wish/ability to pass on experience to others.
  • An accounting qualification (this is desirable, not essential).
  • A high level of self confidence, with business and social skills to work appropriately with our clients.
  • Excellent communication skills – both oral (for interviews/meetings, presentations) and written (for designing and writing reports which can communicate findings and clearly convey the message).
  • A strong focus on quality, customer satisfaction and doing the right thing.
  • Experience of a variety of industry sectors.
  • A history of teamwork and engagement, co-operative working, a common goal of client service.
  • Flexibility – working to tight deadlines, travelling and working as part of the national network including staying away from home.
  • Experience of team management and reviewing of other team members' work.
As consultancy skills are essential, you should also be able to demonstrate:
  • Experience of having provided consultancy services, either internally within an organisation or as part of a service provider.
  • Experience of engaging effectively with clients, understanding their business issues, identifying solutions which deliver value and leverage the knowledge and skills of the organisation.
  • Building relationships both internally and externally.
  • Excellent communication and engagement skills at all levels.
  • Expeirnece of creating detailed documentation of work performed.
  • An understanding of engagement risk and its management through effective contracting and assignment management.


A combination of skills from at least one of the following disciplines is also required:

IT Governance, Processes and Controls

  • Experience of the effective IT governance and recognised standards such as CobiT and ITIL.
  • An understanding of the key elements which provide effective IT governance including structures, policies, standards and procedures.
  • Understanding and experience of IT and business processes and controls; and their testing.
  • Understanding and experience of the requirement for and design of effective controls.
  • Experience of the key functionality and controls within a leading ERP solution. Management of risk within an IT function.
Projects

  • Experience in establishing and managing significant projects – preferably IT implementations which involved a significant element of business change.
  • An understanding of the key success factors in delivering projects and business benefits.
  • Experience in reviewing projects in terms of project governance, technical IT development/delivery, testing, readiness etc.
Information Technology - technical

  • A recognised qualification such as CISSP, CISA or CISM.
  • Understanding and experience of information technology components and their interaction, including networks, support, infrastructure and applications.
  • Design and operation of controls and technical solutions that add value to the clients IT service delivery.
  • Understanding and experience of recognised IT standard e.g. BSI.
  • A strong understanding of the requirements and mechanisms required to deliver high levels of IT security in terms of infrastructure and applications.
  • An understanding of the current leading solutions and experience in their capabilities and effective operations.
  • Experience in reviewing and reporting on the effectiveness of security including such areas as user access management, change control, logical access.
Data
  • Understand of IT supports business, issues surrounding the quality of data within business systems and an appreciation of business analysis
  • A good understanding of one or more of the following:
    • Relational Database Design and Programming using Microsoft SQL Server
    • ACL
    • Data Quality and analysis tools
