Job Role

• We are looking for 2 solicitors to support the partners and Associates in this busy team with major insurance disputes for key clients of the firm.

• First and foremost you will provide first rate client service on a range of contentious insurance matters including all aspects of case management (statements, instructions to counsel, trial preparation, engaging with experts) and plenty of exposure to clients.

• You will be expected to contribute to the strategic direction of cases and to work pro-actively to drive them forward playing a key role in budgeting and managing financial performance.

• You will also assist the team in growing its profile internally and externally through focused business development activities.

The Candidate

• You will have worked for a recognised City litigation practice with good general experience of insurance and reinsurance litigation including professional indemnity claims and property claims.

• You will be used to playing a key role on complex high value litigation. Evidence of plenty of direct exposure to clients / counsel / experts will be required.

• Some evidence of exposure to mediation and/or international disputes will be expected.

• Some exposure to business development activities and a good understanding of how to win work is expected.

• To be successful you will have a sharp and intelligent mind with the ability to think through complex problems under pressure.

• You must be a team player with strong communication and client handling skills.
