Controller GNFR

Our Client is a large, successful and fast growing retailer. Over the last decade and a half, the company has grown organically to approximately 400 stores with combined sales approaching £2.0 billion and its expansion is set to continue. The company’s clear value set and management ethos are as critical to the business’s commercial success as the relevance of its retail format and customer proposition. This role is seen to be of key strategic importance by the Chief Executive and the Senior Leadership Team. Your brief will be to establish a central GNFR team and to set a clear strategy to proactively manage £250m of spend per annum. A clear objective is to reduce spend and to rationalise the supplier base through a consistent approach to strategic procurement, vendor management and supplier selection and performance management. Decisions will be made on the basis of fact including quality, service and price.

A critical factor will be leading a team and engaging the organisation through a transformational change programme.

You must have at least 10 years strategic procurement experience with the last few years being spent leading GNFR initiatives. Ideally you will have a background in retail and have experience of managing a number of key spend areas. Other sectors where GNFR procurement is seen as leading edge are also of interest.
