Group Technical Director

Our head office is in Derby. In addition, we have offices in Orlando and Hong Kong, operating over 300 systems worldwide. We are private equity owned, having been involved in a £33m management buyout in 2008, backed by Fidelity Equity Partners. We are seeking a Group Technical Director, reporting to the CEO, to lead the technical development worldwide that delivers the next phase of our growth plan.

Role:

• To work with the business and the market to identify and deliver new development, channel and product opportunities that drive increased sales and system performance, ensuring Picsolve’s long term competitive advantage

• To agree and deliver through system development and by working with the field engineering team world class system performance and uptime standards

• To plan and deliver, working with teams in each territory, the required system upgrade and new system rollout requirements, ensuring “right first time” standards are achieved

• To lead the common sourcing and design base for all systems worldwide, based on the single system standard. To manage the supplier base to maximise system performance and commercial benefits

• To lead and motivate the R&D and production teams, both directly and indirectly, where located outside the UK

Essential Requirements:

• Significant presence and leadership skills, able to command the respect and cooperation of both direct reports and other, geographically remote, staff as well as other partners

• An ability to see the commercial advantages in technical opportunities and to deliver the defined benefits at pace and within budget

• Experience of consumer focused R&D, working with both hardware and software. Some knowledge of the c++, c# and .net programming environments

• Highly developed planning skills, with track record of developing and delivering projects on schedule#

• An interest in photography and video imaging and in the theme park industry
