THE COMPANY
SciLabware Ltd is a specialist SME with a portfolio of internationally recognised brands supplying products for use in laboratories and technical applications. It now wishes to appoint a Business manager to drive the performance of the Plastics business which has significant potential for growth.
THE POSITION
The role will be fully supported by the Company’s resources and support functions and has a capital allocated for investment. This role will take responsibility for all aspects of management of the business including:
• Creation and execution of a Market and Portfolio strategy.
• The proposal and implementation of New Product Development activity.
• Development of the Plastics brand globally.
• The in-bound supply chain, customer service levels and working capital.
• Supporting Sales in developing the distribution channels.
• Ensuring excellent product information management and technical support.
The role will report directly to the CEO and be supported directly by a small product management and sourcing team. There is potential to be appointed to the Board in the future.
THE CANDIDATES
Demonstrable experience of Business Development including successful entry into new markets as well as:
• Previous commercial experience of managing a Plastic portfolio in Laboratory or similar technical markets.
• Expertise in Plastics technology and manufacturing.
• Experience of dealing with suppliers and customers based internationally especially in emerging markets.
• A degree qualification in Polymer or Material sciences, Life Sciences or Chemistry.
A marketing qualification or relevant business qualification is highly desirable. The successful candidate will be able to show that they can lead a small team, be fully engaged with the detail of the role and establish strong working relationships with stakeholders internally and externally.
