Fred. Olsen Limited is a family managed, multi-faceted private organisation with interests in a variety of industry sectors both in the UK and internationally.

A unique opportunity now exists for a senior level director appointment, to take the company forward in the growing markets that the business operates. The position will be considered for the role of Chief Executive on retirement of the current incumbent.

Commercial Director

Responsible for the strategic direction of the Company, through successful leadership and management practices, you will oversee the effective running of all Fred. Olsen Limited and Fred. Dessen UK group Companies. You will participate and lead the Board of Directors in developing a vision and strategic plan to guide the organisation accordingly and in mind of the environmental influences it faces. You will oversee the planning, implementation, execution and evaluation of special projects including complex contract negotiations. Most importantly, you will act as the spokesperson to all key stakeholders, including, ultimately, the owners.

Again, it is essential that you have experience of working within a multi-subsidiary business, but this experience should cover a broad range of disciplines from financial accounts through to human resources and project management. You will be creative, entrepreneurial and innovative in personality, able to identify opportunities with the knowledge and experience to act instinctively and on your own judgement. Decisive, yet diplomatic, you will be an excellent leader, showing ability to influence and encourage at all levels in the business.

A background in the renewable energy sector is preferred. Experience in the Travel and Tourism industry would also be an advantage.
