A highly respected international organisation, our client is an established market leader in the design and manufacture of leading-edge communications enabled electronic measurement and monitoring devices for the energy sector. With very strong market demand for their products, they are keen to build upon their considerable technical strengths by appointing an experienced senior manager to successfully lead their new product research and development capability.

THE ROLE

Reporting to the Divisional Vice President, you will be leading a substantial EMEA R&D team, responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of new product development which encompasses electronic, hardware and software engineering, research and development activities. You will determine and implement the methods, controls and resources required to ensure the organisation remains at the forefront of world class technology product design and manufacture, and will provide a lead to experienced managers and specialised hardware and software development teams in defining major technical requirements for new products, and ensuring the delivery of new products on time, and to budget and specification. You will also be responsible for driving programme management capability on complex new projects to improve and reduce NPD ‘time to market’ and product unit cost, whilst ensuring compliance with demanding customer product standards and specifications

THE PERSON

An innovative R&D professional with proven senior level man-management skills, you will possess practical experience of managing hardware and software NPD on complex, high volume electronic and/or communications related products, and will be qualified to degree level in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, or related discipline
